Amidst a daunting backdrop of oppressive drought, hellacious wildfires and subsiding land, California continued a course leading the seventh largest economy towards a sustainable clean energy future. The ride this year was bumpy and the opposition was fierce, but substantial progress was made.

USGBC California spent the year actively working with Sacramento legislators and regulators on a number of policy fronts ranging from climate goals to building performance data to smarter water use and healthier, safer materials. At the close of session last month, we are proud to count a number of banner achievements:
